UFC President Dana White has played down the possibility of a future fight between current division champion, Jon Jones, and former division champion, Francis Ngannou – stressing how a cross-fight with the recently signed PFL (Professional Fighters League) star “won’t work” .
Jones, the current heavyweight champion under the UFC banner, is the newest heavyweight snatch Gold after Nganno was removed from the tournament, after being eliminated from the promotion in January this year.
As for Ngannou, the Cameroonian has been sidelined from active competition since headlining UFC 270 back in January last year, unifying and defending his heavyweight titles in a unanimous decision over former interim title holder, Cyril Jean.
And despite the fact that Ngannou and Jones faced each other in fight-savvy rants during their respected stints with the UFC, the two talked about a future fight during a tense and confrontational encounter during PFL 5: Regular Season earlier this month.
