Buffalo Bills WR Stefon Diggs’ Secrets Are Safe With Dallas Cowboys Brother Trevon – Jonathan Alfano, Sports Illustrated
DC Dan Quinn won’t ask CB Trevon Diggs for intel on his brother.
Sunday’s matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys means a showdown between brothers Stefon and Trevon Diggs, or at least it would have if the latter wasn’t out for the season with a torn ACL.
Still, information is often the most valuable asset one can have, and as brothers, the Diggs’ obviously have a boat load of info on each other. However, it seems like any “tips” will stay close between just them.
When speaking to reporters, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn stated that he would not ask Trevon for advice on how to defend his brother.
“I would not do that. I wouldn’t want to put him in that situation. That’s his brother. I certainly wouldn’t,” Quinn said.
Even though Trevon won’t suit up on Sunday, this is the first time the two brothers’ teams have faced each other since he entered the league in 2020.
Born almost five years apart, the Diggs brothers have become one of the NFL’s most successful pair of siblings in recent years. Stefon has been one of the best receivers in the league since arriving in Buffalo, earning Pro Bowl honors in each of his three full seasons with the Bills. Meanwhile, Trevon had a league-high 11 interceptions in 2021 and has earned two straight Pro Bowl selections himself.
While the two don’t see each other on the field very often, they aren’t afraid to comment on each other’s happenings from time to time. Trevon has been especially vocal this season, even calling for his brother to leave Buffalo when the Bills were struggling and fueling speculation about Stefon potentially joining the Cowboys. Those comments have quieted down since the Bills have found their footing in recent weeks, but the dynamic between the brothers is always one to watch.
NFL Week 15 Power Rankings: Cowboys legitimate Super Bowl contenders; Browns make huge leap with Joe Flacco – Pete Prisco, CBS Sports
The Cowboys once again have the opportunity to prove themselves as championship contenders.
Ripping Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott became a trendy thing to do in recent years — their inability to win big games in Dallas the focal point of it all.
The reality is McCarthy was always a better coach than given credit for by the social-media football cult. That’s showing up in a big way as he now calls plays for the 10-3 Cowboys, who are tied for the NFC East lead. The Cowboys beat up the Eagles, 33-13, on Sunday night in a game that saw them finally defeat a team with a winning record, proving many of the skeptics wrong and putting a lot of fan fears to rest.
McCarthy coached days after having an appendectomy, which shows his passion and toughness, the latter something most don’t know about him. But the biggest change about the Cowboys offense this season isn’t McCarthy’s play calling, but rather the guy who is making it all work.
When McCarthy took over as the play-caller this year, there was a lot of thinking that he would lead more of a run-heavy offense. When I talked to McCarthy about that at the league meetings last March, he flat out said that wasn’t going to be the case and laughed about it. Anybody who has followed McCarthy’s history knows that wouldn’t be his style, yet the narrative went viral. We now know any idea of the Cowboys being a run-heavy team has long been ditched.
With an offense that can score and a pass rush that can make life hell for opposing quarterbacks when playing with the lead, the Cowboys are sitting pretty in terms of making a real Super Bowl push.
X Factors: Key players in Bills-Cowboys matchup – Staff Writers, DallasCowboys.com
Look for these Cowboys to play big roles in this week’s matchup at Buffalo.
VI – Tony Pollard – These are the types of games where running the ball effectively is going to be a major advantage for the team that does it the best. Pollard will be asked to carry the ball quite a bit, but also catch the short passes. Last week, he tied a career-high with seven receptions. Look for Pollard to get his share of touches – one way or another.
V – Brandon Aubrey – Any kicker that has made 30 straight field goals is certainly in the zone right now. However, this could be the toughest weather conditions Aubrey has faced in his career as the wind is supposed to be swirling around come Sunday afternoon. In a game that figures to be close, Aubrey will definitely need to be on his game with not only the field goals and extra points, but also on kickoffs, where he leads the NFL by far with 84 touchbacks.
IV – Osa Odighizuwa – The Cowboys lean on the big boys up front in the middle. And with Johnathan Hankins not expected to play this week because of a high-ankle sprain, this puts even more pressure on guys like Odighizuwa to hold their own in the trenches. He’ll have some help in the form of Neville Gallimore and Mazi Smith, but Odighizuwa and that group need to make sure they collapse the pocket and keep Allen from getting loose when the play breaks down.
III – Dak Prescott – There can be little doubt that, at this point, Prescott is not simply a frontrunner for MVP honors heading into Week 4 — he’s _the _frontrunner to win the award. Of course, to do so, he’ll need to keep his streak of dominant performances and wins going, and that task won’t get any easier as he travels to the icy confines of Upstate New York. But if Prescott can walk into Orchard Park and snatch victory from Josh Allen to push the Cowboys to 11-3, anyone arguing against his MVP odds should find another sport to cover.

Micah Parsons, Dallas’ pass rush get set to face one of the least sacked QBs in the league.
Sunday marks a big game for Buffalo’s offensive line because they’ll be tested with one of NFL’s most talented pass rushers. Linebacker Micah Parsons has been one of the best at affecting the quarterback this season.
The linebacker has 12.5 sacks (8th) and 27 quarterback hits (t-2nd) through 13 games. He’s averaging more than two quarterback hits a game and close to one sack per contest.
[Joe] Brady crossed paths with Parsons when he came to a camp while Brady was at Penn State from 2015-2016. He got a first-hand account at how athletic Parsons was before he even played in college.
“When I was a GA at Penn State, Micah came to camp and he was obviously like the top defensive end or top player in the country and in high school,” Brady said . “And he decided he wanted to play wide receiver for the camp. He was the best wide receiver in the camp. Everything he’s doing in the NFL doesn’t surprise me at all, an absolute freak of an athlete.
“And Dan (Quinn) does an unbelievable job of moving him around and getting him on matchups and mismatches. There’s really not much that he can’t do, and it’ll be a great opportunity for us to this week.”
Buffalo has played against some talented defenses but that hasn’t stopped them from allowing sacks at one of the lowest rates in the NFL. Allen has been sacked just 18 times this season, which is tied for the lowest in the league (minimum 10 games).
Here is the Bills’ first injury report for Week 15.
