Cowboys escape with a win over the Seahawks, and maybe Dak Prescott is the real MVP – Yahoo Sports, Frank Schwab
Dak Prescott has a lot to do in leading the comeback win over Seattle.
Maybe Dallas Cowboys fans will be happy with Dak Prescott now.
Getting undue criticism is part of the job of playing quarterback for the Cowboys. Ask Tony Romo. Go back to the Cowboys’ last couple playoff losses and find all those social media messages begging the Cowboys to get rid of Prescott. They were plentiful.
Only a long playoff run by the Cowboys will truly quiet that crowd. But maybe an MVP would help a little.
There is no doubt Prescott is in the MVP race after Thursday night. On a night the Cowboys defense was uncharacteristically bad — or maybe it’s that the Cowboys have beat up on bad teams and have not looked nearly as good against good ones — Prescott saved Dallas from a bad loss. Prescott led a go-ahead drive, hitting Jake Ferguson for a 12-yard touchdown with 4:37 left, and then the Cowboys finally got a stop. Dallas got a field goal after that, Micah Parsons’ pressure led to a fourth-down incompletion after that and held on to win 41-35.
CeeDee Lamb breaks HOFer Bob Hayes’ Cowboys record for most 100-yard receiving games in first four seasons – CBS Sports, Garrett Podell
CeeDee Lamb is stepping into franchise history with his latest run of games.
ARLINGTON, Texas — The 2023 season has been a record-breaking campaign for Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Lamb became the first player in NFL history to have three consecutive games with 10 or more catches and 150 or more receiving yards. Lamb also became the first player in Cowboys history with three 1,000-yard seasons in his first four seasons.
On “Thursday Night Football” against the Seattle Seahawks, Lamb broke a Cowboys record long held by Pro Football Hall of Famer Bob Hayes, the record for the most 100-yard receiving games in a player’s first four seasons, 15 such games. Lamb totaled his 16th after a 10-yard catch in the fourth quarter put him over the century mark against the Seahawks in Week 13.
Defense Saves Dallas Cowboys in Offensive Shootout With Seattle Seahawks: Top 10 Whitty Observations – CowboysCountry, Richie Whitt
A home playoff game would mean everything.
On a wild west shootout of a night at AT&T Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys won a football game without forcing their opponent to punt. And the Seattle Seahawks lost one when scoring 35+ points for the first time in 37 games under coach Pete Carroll.
1. HOME, SWEET (BARELY) HOME – The Cowboys extended their NFL-best home winning streak to 14, but not until after being threatened in Arlington for the first time all season. Truth to be told, they got caught – as Bill Parcells used to famously warn – eating the cheese. Looking back at Thanksgiving’s rout that owner Jerry Jones compared to a Super Bowl and looking ahead to next week’s showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys fell into a trap … and were lucky to escape.
6. MIKE MCGRESSIVE – Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy was aggressive from the start. Three times through for the first three quarters he went for fourth downs, once bypassing a 48-yard field goal that would’ve given a Dallas a 30-28 lead. Instead, Prescott threw a perfect 4th-and-2 pass that was blatantly dropped by CeeDee Lamb. But he got a little too cute late in the game, allowing Prescott to throw into the end zone while nursing a three-point lead and Seattle out of timeouts. The call saved the Seahawks about 35 seconds on the clock. But Dallas’ defense saved McCarthy.
Cowboys’ Dak Prescott Receives MVP Buzz from NFL Fans After Comeback Win vs. Seahawks – Bleacher Report, Zach Bachar
Gotta be between the two top NFC East QBs, and I know who I’m going with.
Dak Prescott continued his recent strong play on Thursday Night Footballas the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Seattle Seahawks by the final score of 41-35.
Prescott finished with 299 yards, completing 71 percent of his passes while throwing three touchdowns and recording zero turnovers. He’s now thrown multiple touchdown passes with no interceptions in four of his last five starts. The 30-year-old also added 22 yards on the ground.
NFL fans were in awe of his stellar performance during the high-scoring affair, with some calling for Prescott to be named MVP.
Dak Prescott. Calm cool and collected. Came up HUGE on that drive. #MVP

Game’s not over, but idc. I feel pretty comfortable saying this is the best Dak has ever played the position.

5 Cowboys-Seahawks takeaways: Dak Prescott leads Dallas to drama-filled victory – The Dallas Morning News, Calvin Watkins
Bland kept his confidence despite the struggles, and needed all of it to undercut yet another ball for a pick.
ARLINGTON — In one of the toughest games of the season, the Cowboys responded in a way title-contending teams do.
Here are our five takeaways from Dallas-Seattle:
DaRon Bland does it again but has long night
On the day he was named NFC’s Defensive Player of the Month, cornerback DaRon Bland had one of those long games. Bland, despite struggling at times in coverage, recorded his NFL-leading eighth interception in the third quarter. The Cowboys didn’t get any points off the takeaway, with Mike McCarthy going for it on fourth down over a 48-yard field goal attempt. Bland, however, had some struggles. Along with safety Donovan Wilson, he gave up a 73-yard touchdown reception to DK Metcalf in the first half. Bland also gave up a 34-yard reception to Metcalf. Toward the end of the first half, Bland was called for a pass interference on an apparent touchdown pass from Geno Smith to rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba of Rockwall. The catch was initially ruled a touchdown but after McCarthy called a timeout followed by a replay review, officials ruled Smith-Njigba didn’t have control of the ball as he landed on the ground. Bland finished the game with six tackles, a missed tackle, one pass breakup and the interception.
What’s up with all those penalties?
In the second quarter, the Cowboys were penalized seven times for 107 yards. When the game ended, Dallas was penalized nine times for 127 yards and Seattle picked up 10 penalties for 130 yards. The Cowboys’ defense was penalized for offsides four times, although two were declined. Earlier in the season, linebacker Micah Parsons said he thought referees were targeting the Cowboys during the Arizona game for lining up offsides. It’s unknown if the refs were looking for that, but it’s something that needs correcting.
