Whitnell set the tone for the men’s and women’s championships at Ullna Golf by closing a 96-yard eagle hole in the opening round and kept that momentum going with a second-round 61 for a 6-shot lead at the halfway stage.
Crocker finished with a 7-under 65 to cut the score to 2 with two to play, but Whitnell birdied 17 to relieve the pressure and see victory.
