Mailbag: Another player like Steele on the list? – Nick Harris and Patrick Walker, DallasCowboys.com
Cowboys left NFL Draft without completely Address their issues related to the depth of the offensive line.
Two years ago, everyone wanted the Cowboys to cut Terrence Steele, but the staff knew better and kept working with him to get him to that level. Do you think there’s another Steele on this team that’s why they didn’t go deep into free agency to get offensive line help?— Kevin Titus/Billings, MT_
Nick Harris: Offensive line depth was definitely something I expected to address throughout the draft in a more impactful way than it was, and none of the players depth gave me so much confidence going into the OTAs. Does that mean he can’t be sneaked off the radar before training camp? Absolutely not, but I don’t see a player who looks like the kind of position Terrence Steele was in at this point a couple of years ago. No deep man faces this much pressure and I don’t feel there is someone who can make a similar kind of impact. Again, this is quite so far. I’d like to see free agency exploited, but I also give this franchise the benefit of the doubt when it comes to developing offensive line talent and having what’s needed up front to help the offense succeed.
Patrick: I love this question because it also acknowledges the path Steele has come to becoming an NFL starting quarterback, among the ranks of the non-releases. I’ve gone on record as saying that I wanted the team to handle the offensive line for the first couple of days of the draft, but I love Asim Richards’ potential; Although I’m going to dig a little deeper into answering your question and circle around Matt Varniuk and Alec Lindstrom – a former seventh-round pick (2021) and undrafted talent (2022), respectively. Jerry Jones has spoken a lot about the need for youngsters to go up and that both Farniuk and Lindstrom have the ability, they simply need a jump-start in 2023 to help solidify the inside of their attacking line. This is especially true as Tyler Biadasz enters contracting season. So, if I had to place my bet on who the next Terrence Steele might be, I’d probably bet on one of those two guys.
Time will tell if Deuce Vaughn was a draft steal – Star Staff, Inside the Star
Vaughn will be vying for a roster spot come summer time. Can he beat that and more?
Vaughn is currently ranked fourth on the Cowboys roster Depth chart in running back But at least it is.
Ezekiel Elliott He is gone but it is not outside the realm of possibility that he will return, albeit on a much smaller contract. If that happens, it reduces Vaughn’s chance of making the team.
in front of it on the depth chart Tony PollardAnd Malik DavisAnd Ronald Jones. Pollard broke his leg last season but still rushed for 1,007 yards and averaged 5.2 yards per carry. Davis rushed for 161 yards last season buried behind Pollard and Elliott but the team plans to use him a lot more this season.
The Cowboys also signed Free agent RB Jones, who only had 70 yards in six games last season but in the three previous seasons totaled 2,130 yards. Vaughn has cut to work to make the team, let alone get real playing time, but his pass-catch ability is a huge asset.
Fehoko shares family ties with Vita Vea, Polamalu — Layten Praytor, DallasCowboys.com
The Cowboys’ fourth-round pick has some family ties to the NFL Pro Bowlers.
Turn the tape of the Cowboys’ fourth-round pick from this year’s NFL Draft in Williams Fehoko and you’ll find a dead man about to hit the quarterback by any means necessary, like a wandering predator. Then once you meet him in person and talk to him, the contrast couldn’t be more stark.
With last week’s rookie mini-camp at The Star gave the majority of rookies their first chance to speak with the media since they were recruited, among them was Fehoko who spoke glowingly of his family.
“I mean we’re very excited,” said Phyoko of the Cowboys’ casting. “First and foremost it’s just a blessing to be in these shoes today. As a family, we’ve come such a long way when I was a little kid. So, just to see my dream come true after so many years of my efforts and work, it means everything to my family.
Not to mention, he shares the same family ties with one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL hacker Defensive tackle Vita Villa as a second cousin and looked up to Troy Polamalu as a role model of Polynesian descent. So yes. The proportions and numbers indicate how high the ceiling is for Fehoko.
The Cowboys are willing to consider the worst possible special teams option – Mark Powell – Fansided
Cowboys maybe Choose to bring a familiar face back into the special teams mix for the 2023 season.
Brett Maher picked up points badly during the postseason, missing four of his five extra points during the Cowboys Wild Card game winthen missed another in their divisional round defeat, although he did make two field goals.
“I think it’s all on the table,” Fasel said. per NFL.com. “Let’s face it, if you look at Bret, he had a great year. He had a bad game. But he played 22 games, but he had a bad game and a half. I think everyone’s on the table. I’m proud of what Brett did last year. If he gets a chance here Or somewhere else, I’m sure he’ll do well.”
Allowing Maher back in the building would only rekindle bad memories, especially in Dallas. Perhaps there is a place for him in another organization, but a fresh start is needed.
However, Maher may have some competition for the job. Tristan Vizcaino – who has only played 10 games in three seasons – is also on the list. There is talk of Dallas adding another player in free agency to establish an open competition.
