Practice Points: Quick notes from the junior camp-staff, DallasCowboys.com
Some updates from the Cowboys Little Camp action.
While there is an ongoing kicker debate, Tristan Vizcaino did what he could today to smooth that downfall by going 8-for-8 on field goals of 33, 35, 38, 40, 43, 46, 47 and 55 yards. Range wasn’t the question about Vizcaino’s early career, and he proved that early on in his time in Dallas. The question remains whether he can stay consistent, and he did on Tuesday. – (Nick Harris)
The removal of Tony Pollard from the minor camp while recovering from a leg injury sustained in the last game of the season created a window of opportunity for any list ball-carrier with the first team. Rico Dowdle, Malik Davis and Ronald Jones were the most memorable and while Deuce Vaughn was mainly featured with the second team he did get some first team representatives out and lined out wide. – (Nick Harris)
Wondering what the front five Cowboys will look like in 2023? Well, after trying out at the OTAs, they started a mini camp with Tyron Smith at left tackle with Tyler Smith taking over left guard duties, and Matt Waletzko playing RT1 in the absence of a recovering Terence Steele. – (Patrick Walker)

“That first year, there was the first time we passed a number of thresholds that they had to cross,” McCarthy said. “I can only tell you based on what I see, I feel like he’s back.”
And two hours later, Cox proved his coach right. The Dallas sophomore players worked a two-minute drill to simulate the conditions of the game. On third down, Cox made a run on an end zone pass, scoring on a pass defense. Then came the fourth goal. …and he did it again, another PBU that led to a defense-wide vocal celebration.
NFL Free Agency Rankings: Top 2023 Unsigned Players – Matt Bowen, ESPN
Zeke is ranked as the 11th best free agent still around.
11. Ezekiel ElliotRB
Team 2022: Dallas Cowboys | Age entering the 2023 season: 28
Elliott’s acceleration has waned in the short area, and he lacks second speed in the open field. But he’s still a punishing runner with excellent contact balance and pass-protection technique for catching blitz. Elliott should be targeted as a strong running back who can win in short-range and goal-line situations and catch the ball from the backfield on screens and swings. In 2022, Elliott rushed 876 yards at 3.8 per carry. It was his seventh season with the Cowboys, MN released It was officially opened for him as a free agency.
One Player Every NFL Team Should Consider Trading Before The 2023 Season – Christopher Knox, Bleacher Report
Dorance Armstrong trade?
A year ago, the Dallas Cowboys signed Dorrance Armstrong to a new game For two years, $12 million an agreement. That proved to be a smart move, as he spent a career year with 8.5 sacks and a 18 Quarterback pressures.
Why consider trading Armstrong now? His value is at an all-time high, he could leave in 2024 in free agency anyway, and the Cowboys have a fairly strong rotation of edge runners.
That group includes All-Pro Micah Parsons, H.E bulking and the conversion from linebacker to rusher full-time this offseason. It also includes three-time Pro Bowler Demarcus Lawrence, 2022 second-round quarterback Sam Williams and Dante Fowler Jr. and Villami Fiocco in the fourth round.
That’s not to say Armstrong can’t have a prominent role for the Cowboys in 2023, but his future with the team is uncertain at best. With rushes always in demand, Dallas will almost certainly get a reasonable return in the trade.
Armstrong’s transfer could also help Dallas fill a more needy situation, such as a running back, while creating opportunities for players like Williams and Fiocco. It’s an option the Cowboys should consider, even if retaining the deep lunge rotation is a perfectly reasonable alternative.
Analyst Says Former Star Worth $21 Million Could Sign With Cowboys – Matthew Davis, Heavy
Leonard Fournette’s names continue to be associated with the Cowboys
“I have a feeling they’re probably going to bring in another Warrior or two like you mentioned,” Mosher said on the “Locked on Cowboys” podcast. “Remember, the Cowboys signed Anthony Barr as soon as training camp started last year. Maybe they’ll do a similar move. I’m still looking at the running back position.”
“This is still where I feel [a move is coming]. I don’t think it will be the return of Ezekiel Elliott, but maybe it will be someone like Leonard Fournette or someone just to give them something else in that backfield. Mosher said.
Fournette played three seasons for the Bucs and helped the team win the power in 2020. He amassed 1,847 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground as well as 178 catches for 1,210 yards and five scores in his tenure.
