17. Mike McCarthy, Dallas Cowboys – McCarthy knows how to guide a team to the playoffs, as evidenced by his . 614 winning percentage in 16 seasons as an NFL head coach. But it’s hard to beat the Cowboys’ back-to-back embarrassing postseason finishes, and only get to one power While at the peak of Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay.
A first-round pair gives this NFC EAST team top defensive tackle room – Mario Herrera Jr., inside star
The Cowboys were loaded with sharp rushing games last year, and they now have a fearsome lineup of defensive tackles to go along with it.

Expected appetizers: Osa Odighizuwa, know smith
Major Shareholder(s): Jonathan HankinsChauncey Goulston Neville Gilmour
Mazie Smith
For the first time since 1991 NFL DraftHowever, the Cowboys used a first-round pick at defensive tackle.
A great move for a defense that is cut right down the middle by the opposition’s quick attacks.
Smith is abnormally strong, and at 330 pounds he’ll be a block-eating powerhouse in the middle to free up linebackers.
Jonathan Hankins / Chauncey Goulston / Neville Gallimore
Jonathan Hankins was re-signed after essentially saving the defense from giving up 3,000 rushing yards for the season.
He can pair up with Mazie on obvious lunges, playing the role of a seasoned mentor to a rookie as well.
Chauncey Golston is technically listed as a defensive endbut he conglomerated to be able to make an impact at home.
He provides valuable depth and variety along the entire defensive line.
Neville Gallimore still plays a role in this defense, but could be a clear favorite now that he’s been eliminated Depth chart in 2022.
Watch: Latest Cowboys Big Brain Sarah Malipal Discusses Analytics in Football – KD Drummond, The Cowboys Wire
The Cowboys are building a serious football analytics department.
John Park was brought in a few weeks ago to take over the department, wasting no time in starting the rebuilding. Park’s rental was met with universal acclaim, not only for his acumen, but for the network of other smart people he was able to draw upon in order to build this stand at The Star in Frisco.
His first set, Sarah Malapalli, hits on those sweet notes. Mallapalle is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a BA in Statistics and Machine Learning from 2018. She spent a year in Philadelphia Phillies The organization before the NFL was with Baltimore Crows the past three seasons. In the video below, she was part of a prestigious panel at MIT Sloan’s Mathematical Analytics Conference. Various topics are covered in the panel, so you can take 45 minutes and have a look at the latest big cowboy mind.
The Cowboys’ Biggest Weaknesses Ahead of 2023 NFL Training Camp – Christopher Knox, Bleacher Report
The Cowboys RB2 competition is wide open in Oxnard.
depth when running backwards
The departure of Ezekiel Elliott — who, it should be noted, was unsigned — left a lot of uncertainty in the regression center. Tony Pollard, who got the franchise tag in the off-season, should be the starter and he could do very well.
While splitting time with Elliott in 2022, Pollard compiled 1,378 scrimmage yards, 12 combined touchdowns and a Pro Bowl gesture. Weakness here is behind Bullard on the depth chart.
Dallas doesn’t have a lot of experience behind the 26-year-old, with 2022 undrafted rookie Malik Davis and sixth-round rookie Deuce Vaughn likely near the top of the depth chart. Play the former only 79 snaps Last season, while the latter was untested 5’5″, £179.
He was a former Cowboy, too Tampa Bay Buccaneers Rookie Ronald Jones II, who had just 17 cars in 2022, and Rico Dowdle are in the position.
Depth will be vital because Pollard has never been a slacker and is coming out of leg surgery. If he’s struggling in a more prominent role or fails to fully regain his pre-injury form, the Dallas ground game could be in trouble.
Over the next several weeks, the Cowboys would have to determine if they had enough roster depth or if it was necessary to re-sign Elliott or target another free agent like Dalvin Cook.
3 Cowboys whose stock goes up before training camp – Jerry Trotta, The Landry Hat
Eric Scott Jr. may be Dan Quinn’s latest high school late-round steal as the team trades its future pick.
3. Eric Scott, CB
Raise your hand if you expect Eric Scott to be the most discussed and over-the-top Cowboys rookie draft pick in the OTAs and minicamps. Presumably, Mazie Smith will steal the show among the rookie class once the pads show up at training camp, but that doesn’t take anything away from Scott’s offseason.
Modified by Dallas, the 2023 sixth-round pick has been training regularly with the first-team defense. Some of that can be attributed to Trayvon Diggs missing some training and Jordan Lewis still sidelined with his injury at Lisfranc, but he says a lot of Scott didn’t seem overwhelmed training with those.
Mike McCarthy said Scott was one of the most impressive rookies. Even Dan Quinn had a crush on the 23-year-old Debbie.
“When you see a guy want a moment to go to compete, and he clenches his fist and says, ‘I’m not leaving here,’ Quinn said of Scott’s on-court attitude.” “That’s what I look for in rookies, to have that kind of attitude to say, ‘Here I am. I’m not going anywhere. “
Scott will be tested once training camp heats up, but he’ll have valuable (and rare) experience at a rookie corner having already lined up against CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup in the early part of the offseason.
