Dallas Cowboys ‘Four Horsemen’: What Can Coach Brian Schottenheimer Expect From TE? Cowboys Country, Adam Schultz
New faces, new expectations.
The Dallas Cowboys tight room has a relatively youthful look. After he left Dalton Schultz via free agency to Houston TxIt will be a “tight end by panel” this season.
After being the Cowboys’ coaching analyst last season, new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said the tight end room made him excited when talking about his new role.
“That room…was one of the things I was excited about,” said Schottenheimer. “Watching from afar last year, I look at Jake [Ferguson] Come on, Fergie has the success he’s had, Heeney [Peyton Hendershot] … Sean McCune never gets enough credit; He’s a really good soccer player.”
Cowboys fans will laugh at PFF’s unofficial scores in the NFC East – The Landry Hat, Jerry Trotta
Offseason moves aren’t enough to please everyone. But what’s worse?
The NFC East was quietly the best division in football last season. 500 or better, marking the first time since 2002 that three teams from the same division made it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs, which the Dallas Cowboys have reached since they won them all in 1995.
Clearly motivated to turn their luck around, the Cowboys put the pedal to the metal this offseason in terms of roster promotion.
The Cowboys had the worst season outside of NFC East teams, per PFF
Yes we know, it’s been 10,000 days since she was the last big bowler for Dallas – Inside TheStar, Richard Paolinelli
Count each one.
Thanks for reminding Eagles fans and the rest NFL Fan bases too. the Dallas Cowboys 10,000 days have officially been removed from the last time power Appearance as of today.
Trust us, we’ve noticed. But, and I hate to break this to you and rain on the hate parade, we’re fine here. Really, it’s not us, it’s you.
Because there are many things that remain true in this so-called dark day:
The Dallas Cowboys are still America’s team.
The Cowboys have won their last three consecutive Super Bowls. No other team can say that.
The Cowboys are second in total Super Bowl appearances with Steelers.
The Cowboys are tied for third in Super Bowl wins with 49ers.
Battle Lines: Where Overtaking Fits in the LB Group – DallasCowboys.com, Kurt Daniels
His tape speaks for itself, Dan Quinn will put him on the field.
With informal practices — both OTAs and mini camps — all done for the Cowboys this offseason, there’s a long break between now and the start of training camp, which begins July 24 in Oxnard.
But that doesn’t mean there aren’t questions on the table at every site. Every day, we’ll take a deep dive into every spot on the field, analyzing the top battles, key players, and some bold predictions. Today, we continue at the linebacker position.
What should go right: The Cowboys have the makings of a solid second line of defense here, which, of course, will be tasked with stopping runs. In four of Dallas’ five regular season losses in 2022, the team has surrendered more than 150 yards. They’ve only done so twice in 12 wins. Meaning, these players have to make sure that opponents can’t run like crazy.
Battle to watch: Gabriel Cox vs. DeMarvion Overhawn: Overhung was the team’s third-round pick this year, but really this could be Cox vs. any of the young linebackers fighting for playing time. Now in his third season, the team’s fourth-round selection in 2021 has seen 87 percent of his snaps come on special teams. Needless to say, the contribution on defense will benefit Cox and the Cowboys.
Exploiting a Deep Midfield, the Cowboys’ Crossing Attack Has Room to Grow – CowboysWire, Reid Hanson
Risk reward to have more chances to catch the balls, but a greater attack spread.
The Cowboys did not regularly exploit middle field. Prescott’s most profitable passes came on the sidelines while his performance in the middle was well below average.
Under Kellen Moore, the Cowboys often targeted hard throws on the sidelines. It fit his general scheme and philosophy and was a way for Prescott to show off his passing ability. These are the tough throws where mediocre and below-average QBs can’t survive.
However, the more profitable parts of the field, the mid to deep mids, are just begging for exploits against fractious security looks. It’s not like the Cowboys haven’t tried, these passes up the middle usually require better personnel and more effective play design.
Sumer Sports Caught Because these middle plays often take longer to develop (these aren’t all straight “go” ways), spending time in the pocket is crucial.
The area where good QBs are separate from mediocre QBs is in deep lanes on the boundary. But if the Cowboys want to go up as an offense, they need to turn their attention to the middle of the field. This is usually located on running calls pic.twitter.com/jwiccdOwfN
