The next step for Micah Parsons? Becoming a true “impact player” for the Cowboys, teammates around him – Michael Gilkin, DMN
Parsons has the responsibility of being the defensive leader.
“I try to raise everyone’s standards because I try to raise them up This line D Up another level. That’s part of growing up.”
Parsons spent some of his informal training in Austin, While most of his teammates did the same at Ford Center in The Star. Since they joined, whether it be the lessons Parsons learned from boxing or On selecting retired offensive mind Andrew Whitworth, He shared some insights gained.
In his third year in the NFL, Parsons focused on not only raising his game but those around him.
The process naturally started with the same. Added muscle up to 250 lbs After playing with. 245 last season. He worked on becoming more fluid and efficient with his movements, believing that this would not only help him play faster but stay healthier.
Parsons played all 17 games in 2022, but along the way, a race car was desperate for a pit stop. The increased attention from the offense and more representatives on the defensive end took a physical toll.
“It’s not so much that I don’t want to be with guys,” said Parsons, who reported May 22 about the start of the OTAs. “It’s like how can I invest in myself? Personally, we all have different mentors. One person might learn from the teacher at a high rate, and someone might learn much more from a classmate. …
“I just want to create the best version of me. I’m trying to be cool. I wanted to put on some size and weight. I’ve been eating right, doing everything right so I can add longevity to my career and my life.”
Report: Antonio Calloway arrested for driving with a suspended license – Sharyn Williams. PFT
Callaway, who has a history of being suspended, finds himself at another disadvantage.
Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 reports that Cowboys receiver Antonio Calaway was arrested in Miami on Saturday.
According to Slater, Callaway had a warrant for driving with a suspended license and failing to pay.
He signed with the Cowboys’ practice squad on November 15, but did not play in a game. The Cowboys signed him to a futures contract in January.
Callaway has not played a regular season game since 2020 when he appeared in five games for the Dolphins after serving an extended suspension. He caught two passes for 20 yards before being snapped up by Miami.
Callaway entered the league as the Browns’ fourth-round pick in 2018.
In 25 career games, including 14 starts, Callaway has 53 receptions for 695 yards and five touchdowns.
Tony Pollard says he’s being discharged from training camp – Shane Taylor, Inside The Star
Playing on the franchise tag, RB1 should be ready to take the load in Week 1.
Tony Pollardthe beginning running back For the Cowboys, he said he’d be ready for Boot camp When the team reports in July.
In January, Pollard was injured in the Cowboys playoff loss against San Francisco 49ers.
He underwent the TightRope operation a few days after the end of the season to help fully heal the tibia and fibula.
Pollard is still not 100%. He takes it easy and gets through things only at half speed.
Pollard spoke on Thursday of this week. He has said he didn’t think he was limited, but the Cowboys aren’t taking any chances.
“It’s just smart with that, just trying to get back up slowly and making sure I’m in good shape when I get out of there so a fall doesn’t happen,” Pollard said.
This is great news for cowboys a crime Which had so many holes this time last year it looked like a full 180.
Do the Cowboys have the NFL’s best pair of teammates in 2023? – Ben Grimaldi, Cowboys Wire
Dan Quinn finds himself in a familiar situation: coaching one of the most talented players in the league.
The dynamic Dallas-based duo stands out from the rest. Pro Football Focus rates both starting cornerbacks For the Cowboys inside the top 10 in their ranking of the 32 best cornerbacks ahead of the 2023 season. Other teams have a couple of CBs on the roster, but no other team has two in the top 10.
Stefon Gilmour (sixth)
In an odd twist, the site ranked Gilmour ahead of its newcomer. The Cowboys traded Gilmour to give Diggs their best playmaker ahead since he was drafted in 2020.
Here’s what PFF had to say about Gilmore:
6. Stefon Gilmore, Dallas Cowboys
There was a stretch where Gilmour was football’s best cornerback, and while that may be in the past now, he showed on each of his two previous stops that he could still play at a very high level. For the Colts, Gilmour posted an 81.1 PFF coverage score and allowed an 82.6 passer rating on 82 targets. He now has the benefit of playing against Trayvon Diggs in Dallas in 2023.
5 Dallas Cowboys That Will Make Or Break The 2023 Season – Randy Gorzy, Landry Cap
These five names may be the deciding factor in whether or not the Cowboys can end their long-running drought.
1. Brandin Cooks, WR
The Dallas Cowboys’ worst move in 2022 was plain to see. When they traded Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth round swap in addition to a sixth round swap, they sold her as a salary cap requirement.
Sure, Cooper made a lot of money but he wasn’t the problem. He wasn’t the one who didn’t live up to his inflated salary, even if he did have a “down season” in 2021. Cooper, who was running back from CeeDee Lamb, had 68 receptions for 865 yards and eight touchdowns. However, he still proved explosive as he had 1,160 yards and nine touchdowns for the Browns.
To their credit, the front office was at least right to think Lamb was ready for an expanded role. The third year pro put up 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns on 197 receptions. That was even with Dak Prescott out for five games.
But the problem was that he was alone.
After Lamb, the second best receiver was Dalton Schultz, his former starting tight end. He had 57 receptions for 577 yards and five touchdowns. Next up was Noah Brown with 43 catches for 555 yards and three scores.
