Cooper Flagg, the No. 2 college basketball player in the class of 2025, has dominated the last few Nike EYBL sessions. The 16-year-old from Newport, Maine has already received 11 scholarship offers. In the final Nike EYBL Session 4, Flagg averaged 27.8 points, 15 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 5.8 blocks per game, putting his video game numbers in front of the nation’s top recruiters.
The young forward still has a long way to go before he reaches his college decision, but he’s already catching the eye of the nation’s biggest schools ahead of his junior season. Ranked second in the class of 2025 behind Cameron Bowser, Flagg has already received offers from Duke, Georgia, UCLA, and others.
Copper Flag dominates the Nike EYBL sessions
Flagg turned 16 in December, making him too young to be eligible for a few weeks on the USA Under-16 National Team. So, while the other top recruits from the class of 2025 headed to Colorado for the USA Trials, Flagg was in Memphis playing the Nike EYBL EYBL 16 4 session.
The sophomore who stands at 6-foot-8 completely dominated the competition leading his Maine United team to a 3-1 record. The five-star recruit put up incredible numbers against the biggest schools in the country. He finished the two-day show averaging 27.8 points, 15 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 5.8 blocks, earning him U16 MVP of the Week honors from MADE Hoops.
Top Cooper Flagg Schools and Scholarship Offers
After his freshman season, Flagg was named a second-best prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. In the past few months, Flagg has received offers from some of the top college basketball programs in the country, including Duke, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Providence, and UCLA. and UConn and West Virginia.
Despite growing up in Maine, Flagg grew up a fan of Duke basketball. The sophomore went so far as to say that he modeled his game on former Duke basketball stars Grayson Allen and Jason Tatum. Right now, he’s a prime target for coach John Scheer after the Blue Devils made an early bid last May for a five-star recruit.
If Scheyer and the Duke crew are able to land at Flagg, they can get their hands on another loaded recruit class. The Bowser twins also have a close relationship with Duke with their father, Carlos Boozer, who starred on the show from 2000 to 2002. Both Cameron Bowser (#1) and Kayden Bowser (#23) are among the top 100 prospects in the class of 2025.
Could the NBA G-League become an option for Flagg?
Recently, there have been a number of players taking alternative routes to the NBA.
Some players, such as LaMelo Ball, have chosen to play in professional leagues outside the United States, while other top players, including Scoot Henderson and Matas Buzelis, have decided to play in the NBA G League.
Henderson and Pozelis both decided that signing with the G-League Ignite was the best way to prepare for the NBA.
Flagg hasn’t committed anywhere yet, but has been seen in some rehearsals with Matas Buzelis. Last month, NBA coach Chris Brickley gave a workout to top high schools that included Flagg and Bozelis.
If Buzelis’ draft stock goes up after one year on the Ignite roster, it wouldn’t be surprising for Flagg to take the same path.
