Former UFC “champion” Conor McGregor shared a bold prediction for the upcoming boxing match between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul.
Diaz and Paul are set to compete in an eight-round boxing match – 185 lbs. on August 5th, 2023 in Dallas, Texas.
The bout will mark Nate’s professional boxing debut, while Paul (6-1 boxing) looks to recover from his first career defeat at the hands of Tommy Fury.
While many professional fighters are on the fence about Diaz’s chances against Paul, that’s not the case when it comes to Nate’s former UFC opponent Conor McGregor.
Notorious shared the next prediction for “Diaz vs. Paul” during a recent interview internal fight:
“I think Nate Diaz smacked his (Jake Paul) head in, and I look forward to seeing him!”
Conor McGregor is of course gearing up to take on Michael Chandler inside the Octagon later this summer.
The Irish star has not competed in combat sports since breaking his leg in his triple threat fight with Dustin Poirier.
Despite his longstanding rivalry with Diaz, McGregor is clearly hoping his former foe can humble boxing’s often outspoken “problem child” in Jake Paul.
Nate and Connor both shared their wishes to finally have a rubber match. Diaz won the pair’s first meeting via second-round submission at UFC 196, while McGregor outlasted a majority decision in a rematch at UFC 202.
