Forward Daniel Ciampini will wear the Orange for the second season after the Steelers confirmed his contract extension Saturday night.
In 66 games in his first EIHL season, the 32-year-old forward scored 24 goals and assisted on 41 others. His 48 league point total leads the Steelers through the regular season.
“I’m really excited to bring back the ‘champion’ to build off last year’s season. We felt he was one of those important building blocks that was so important for us to come back,” said coach Aaron Fox. “He ended up finishing the year with 65 points in 66 games, 24 of those were goals, tying for the team lead in regular season points.
Champ also led the league in SH goals and was also the two most complete way forwards last season. I love his defensive game, it’s a very high end for a guy who has finished as his club’s top scorer in four of his five seasons in Europe. He thinks the game is very good and he has He stretched long as he was dominant last season.
“I really believe with him now having a year in the league under his belt and knowing what to expect he’s going to build those numbers next year.”
