6 NFL Free Bargain-Bin Agents Who Can Still Help NFL Teams in 2023 | Ovarian report
Karim Hunt, right-back
Kareem Hunt quickly established himself as a standout for the Kansas City Chiefs during their rookie campaign in 2017.
While off-the-court issues derailed his career shortly after it took off — footage of him physically assaulting a woman during his sophomore year led to his release by the Chiefs and an extended suspension in 2019 — he’s resurfaced with Cleveland Browns As an option to change gear works behind star Nick Chubb.
Hunt just finished a four-season run with the organization and is now waiting for a team that will give him a third round in the NFL.
The 2017 Pro Bowler has done well for most of his tenure in Cleveland, at least when he’s available. He played in 32 games over his first three seasons, recording 1,406 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground and added 763 yards and six scores on 97 receptions in that span.
His final year with the club was poor, and Hunt demanded a trade midway through the campaign. While Brown was open to being engaged to him, none of the suitors showed up. Ultimately staying put, he finished 2022 with just 678 yards and four touchdowns from scrimmage on 158 touches.
With Chubb’s contract still intact and Jerome Ford poised to take on a bigger role in year two, Hunt was a luxury the organization could not afford to keep this season, especially with Cleveland.com’s Terry Pluto reporting that the Browns felt Hunt’s speed was “slipping.”
Although no team has come to terms with Hunt yet, he should find a role as a cheap and dependable veteran who can contribute as an outfield defender and sure pass server.

List of Presidents: Do Denric Prince and Clyde Edwards-Hellier Contribute?
Will Deneric Prince or Clyde Edwards-Helaire break the running back rotation?
In this offseason, the Chiefs prioritized continuity at the running back position. Isiah Pacheco returns as the obvious starter, and The Chiefs He re-signed veteran Gerrick McKinnon to a one-year deal as a third down running back. Clyde Edwards-Hellier returns from injury.
The only serious addition made by the Chiefs was Uncut free agent signing Deneric Prince from Tulsa. Prince, 216-pound player and captain of 2023 NFL Draft Run back up the rung in speed points, has already received praise from the Chiefs’ coaching staff this offseason. Outside of Prince, however, the backroom has remained largely the same this year.
In terms of reprising roles, Pacheco’s role seems to hold together quite well. To start last season, the Chiefs regularly alternated between Edwards-Hellier, McKinnon, and Pacheco, but after the byes, Pacheco became the main man for early touchdowns. Pacheco’s speed and body to attack brought a different but necessary element. In games like power or in Los Angeles ChargersPacheco had critical moments as the Chiefs would give him the ball for a full drive and score.
While I expect Pacheco to remain the team’s early solution at running back, I remain skeptical that he could ever become a true third-place finisher. Pacheco currently lacks the running track or protection ability of McKinnon or even Edwards-Helaire. In addition, Pacheco’s physical style leads to injuries He actually appeared in his rookie year. Asking him to play more snaps and take more contact is probably not the best option over the course of a long season.
