Charles Oliveira wants Beniel Darius to back up his talk and go to Earth with him.
Ahead of UFC 289, both Oliveira and Dariusz are confident in their skills and both believe they will be able to win by stoppage on Saturday night. However, prior to the fight, Dariush spoke to BJPENN.com and said he had no problem taking the fight to the floor if needed because he is not afraid of grappling Oliveira.
“Ideally, he’d want to be on top, he’d want to take me down and be on top,” Dariush said on BJPENN.com’s Just Scrap Radio. “I think Charles’ ideal position (is to be on top). Stand up and take me to the ground, that would be his ideal position… I have no problem getting him to the ground. If the fight ends on the ground, great, if the fight stays on, great It’ll be my way either way… That’s how I see it happen, kill or be killed. Either I end up killing Charles in this fight or he kills me, there’s no other way around.”

After Benil Dariush’s comments about not being afraid to take it to the floor, Charles Oliveira told the fourth-ranked lightweight to try going to the floor and see what happens.
“You have to be confident when you get into a fight like this. All the respect in the world to him. The one thing I’ve said many times: I’m an MMA fighter. I’m a complete fighter. I’m not a jiu-jitsu fighter,” Oliveira He said on UFC 289 media day. “Well, if he feels so confident about jiu-jitsu, he’s got three rounds to try and drop it to the ground and see what happens, and we’ll see what happens.”
Oliveira is known for his grappling ability as he holds the UFC record for most wins by submitting with 16, five ahead of Demian Maia. However, Dariush is confident that he will be the better gladiator which increases the expectation of Scrap.
