ATLANTA (AP) — Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart was cleared to play in Game 4 Sunday night against the Atlanta Hawks after landing hard on his tailbone.
Coach Joe Mazzola said Smart would be in the starting lineup after being included as a gametime decision.
“It’s fine,” said Mazzola. “He is healthy.”
Smart landed hard on the tailbone in the closing minutes of the Losing Boston, 130-22, in Game 3 on Friday night. He went down while fighting for the rebound with Clint Capella.
Smart was sore after the match and wasn’t sure if he could waste some time. But he was allowed to go after he took part in the shooting that took place on Sunday morning.
Boston led the opening round series 2-1.
