Two-time GLORY welterweight champion Cedric Dombey has focused his eyes on mixed martial arts for the past two years, and has done quite well for himself so far in his short four-fight stint.
The Cameroonian native is one of the greatest kickboxers on the planet, with a 75-7-1 record in the sport with a number of world championships on his resume, including the WKA European Championship, WKA World Championship, WAKO World Championship, and of course The GLORY title, which he defended five times before starting his MMA journey.
Of his 75 kickboxing wins, 45 have come by knockout, and he quit the sport on seven straight fights. What’s more, he never finished in the kickboxing circuit with all seven defeats coming via decision.
Dombey avenged his last two defeats, both of which came via split decision, winning each match by knockout. He also takes pride in beating UFC talent Brad Riddle, as well as fellow longtime GLORY champ Nikki Holzken, whom he defeated twice over the course of their two fights.
Doumbe’s last kickboxing match took place in January of 2021, with his first mixed martial arts match coming later that year in November.
Since beginning his MMA career, Dombey has gone 4-0, all four of his victories coming by knockout; He was supposed to make his UFC debut last year in UFC France, the night Cyril Gane faced Tai Tuivasa, but the commission wouldn’t let him compete given he was only 2-0 doing a fight with 5-2 Darian Weeks.
Strangely enough, Dombey faces his opponent, Jarrah Al-Silawi, 18-5 PFL Debuts later this month in PFL 6.
PFL 6 kicks off June 23, 2023, live from the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jarrah Al-Silawi was 16-3 in his PFL debut in early 2022, and their last two losses have been as a result of a split decision. After starting his journey 2-0 in the Pro League, a recent win over veteran Gleeson Tebao, he then loses his next match in a row, losing both fights by knockouts to Magomed Umalatov and Sadibo C.
Who do you see taking the lead in this welterweight bout in PFL 6?

I became a fan of combat sports when I was 12 years old. I was browsing channels and landed on Versus, which is where WEC was on TV. Uriah Faber fought Jens Pulver for the second time that night. This is the first fight I’ve ever seen, and I got addicted to it instantly. Eventually, I started covering the sport in the last quarter of 2018, and since then I’ve started writing about animals as well.
