With his second goal in the 5-4 shootout loss to the Dallas Stars on Thursday, Washington Capitals forward Dylan Strome scored his 100th career NHL goal.
Strome gave the Capitals a 4-3 lead in the third period on the power play with 10:52 to go in the final frame. It also happened to be Alex Ovechkin’s 1,500th career NHL point.

The 26-year-old center was drafted third overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 NHL Draft. He spent three seasons in Arizona racking up just seven goals.
In November of the 2018-19 season, Strome was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks and started to find his footing. Strome tallied a career-high 51 points (17 goals, 34 assists) with Chicago.
Strome was signed as an unrestricted free agent after the Blackhawks elected not to qualify the Mississauga native, and he signed a one-year contract with the Capitals for the 2022-23 season.
Strome had a breakout year in D.C., racking up career-highs across the board with 65 points (23 goals, 42 assists) in 81 games.
