Cameron Syman has defended Dricos du Plessis’ comments about potentially becoming the UFC’s first “real” African champion.
Next month, Dricos du Plessis faces the fight of his life. He will go head-to-head with Robert Whitaker, knowing a win will earn him a shot at Israel’s Adesanya and the UFC Middleweight Championship. He is undefeated in the UFC up to this point but in the eyes of many, this is seen as a step too far. Of course, du Plessis doesn’t think so, and neither does Cameron Siman.
It is scheduled that his compatriot will return to work by himself, with the same card. He would put his unbeaten welterweight record to the test. Of course, one of du Plessis’ biggest storylines has nothing to do with Whitaker.

During a recent interview, Syman couldn’t help but defend his friend.
