Two UFC-ranked heavyweights are set to collide on July 1.
Blagoy Ivanov will meet Romanian Alexander Romanov at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Two people familiar with the bout reported MMA Junkie with the booking Thursday but asked not to be identified because the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Former WSOF Champion, Ivanov (19-5 MMA, 3-4 UFC) was signed to the UFC in 2018 and was immediately thrown into the deep end with a fight against former champion Junior Dos Santos, which he lost by unanimous decision. Since then, Ivanov has had mixed results with wins over Ben Rothwell, Tai Tuivasa and Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
Romanov (16-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) is looking forward to a two-time losing streak, which followed a 16-fight winning streak in his MMA career. After losing a majority decision to Marcin Tebora, Romanov was quickly finished by floor and pound by Alexander Volkov in his last fight of March.
