Bellator MMA will return to Dublin, Ireland’s 3Arena in September, with Irish superstar Sinead Kavanagh along for the ride.
SBG Ireland’s Kavanagh (9-5) has the home crowd behind her as she takes on Sarah Collins (4-0) in her women’s featherweight bout at Bellator 299. The event takes place on September 23, 2023, broadcast on Showtime in the US
Kavanagh, a teammate of Conor McGregor, has been 4-1 in her past five fights, with the lone loss coming in a failed attempt to capture the Bellator MMA Featherweight Championship against Chris Cyborg.
Australian Collins made her promotional debut in her latest fight, defeating veteran featherweight Bam “Bam” Sorenson.
Bellator officials announced the fight through a press release Thursday, along with five other newly revealed Bellator 299 matches.
Those extra fights see Britain’s Luke Trainer (7-1) welcome promotional newcomer Laurynas “Captain Lithuania” Urbonavicius (14-1) to the Bellator cage, while Scots lightweight Mark Ewen (4-0) makes his promotional debut against his teammate Newcomer Noah Gougnon (1-1) from France. At Featherweight, two undefeated pairs clash as Kenny “Black Diamond” Mukhonona (5-0) faces Welshman Josh O’Connor (4-0).
Finishing off the new additions, Italy’s Chiara “Bestie Barbie” Benco (8-3) takes on Mackenzie “McGodoo” Stiller (1-0), after defeating Maria Henderson in the women’s strawweight match, while another Italian talent, Niccolo “The Monkey King” Solli (5-1) takes on France’s Romain Debienne (9-4) at welterweight.
Bellator 299 is set to head the list for the previously announced middleweight fight as Johnny Iblin defends his title against England’s Fabian Edwards. The card as announced so far consists of the following matches:
