Since Reaves is coming off a two-year deal after not being drafted, the Lakers own the rights to Reaves’ Early Bird. The Lakers can only offer Reaves a maximum four-year, $51 million deal.
Reaves could sign an offer sheet with another team that could be worth up to $98 million. However, the Lakers can match the offer sheet and re-sign Reaves because he is a restricted free agent.
At 6’5″, Reeves has proven that he can be one of the Lakers’ primary playmakers alongside LeBron James. Reaves averaged 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in the regular season.
