Matt Brown’s opinion of the biggest star the world of mixed martial arts has seen in recent years has diminished.
talking on Michael Bisping’s YouTube channelUFC veteran Brown (24-19 MMA, 17-13 UFC) had some harsh words for Conor McGregor. Brown is aware of the heights McGregor has reached, but is confident in saying that his best is now in the past – and possibly by McGregor’s own doing.
“It’s a nobody, in my opinion,” Brown said. “He’s been amazing, I gave him props for everything he’s done, but at this point he’s a bum.”
During the interview, Bisping and Anthony Smith kept their distance from criticizing the Irish star, but Brown doubled down.
“You could title that,” Brown said, “and it wouldn’t be bullshit.” “Connor, I think he lost like four or the last five. He didn’t do anything.
“All you see, he’s drinking and drinking, or he’s losing his mind. That’s f*cking bum life to me. All that money doesn’t make you a bum. You’re still a bum to me bro. When you step into the cage, you’re still a bum to me.” .
Brown and McGregor have never been linked to a fight, but they did have a recent online interaction.
After finishing off fellow UFC veteran Court McGee on ABC 4 on May 13, McGregor mentioned Brown, saying he wanted to surpass Brown’s record for most knockouts in UFC history — a number he shares with Derrick Lewis at 13.
Brown suggested a fight between the two and the response, and McGregor responded, calling his shot an “unfortunate attempt”.
