According to reports Monday night, the New Orleans Police Department issued an arrest warrant for former UFC fighter, Nate Diaz, who is being sought on a second-degree battery charge in connection with a fight that took place over the weekend. On Bourbon Street in the state’s French Quarter.
Diaz, 38, a former lightweight and welterweight contender under the UFC banner, attended a Misfits boxing event in the state over the course of this past weekend, to support fellow UFC and Bellator alum Chris Avila.
During the event card, footage emerged of Diaz throwing a water bottle towards Netflix star and football player, Chase D’Amore, which led to a brawl between members of the audience.

And in the aftermath of the event, Nate Diaz was filmed getting involved in a street fight with a man named Rodney Petersen, with footage showing the former Petersen knee in the stomach during the clinch, before locking onto a front choke, and choking. The latter is rendered unconscious before dropping him to the ground.
According to a preliminary report from MMA fight reporter, Stephen Marocco On Monday evening, the New Orleans Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Stockton resident Nate Diaz in connection with the incident.
“BREAKING: The New Orleans Police Department has issued a warrant for Nate Diaz’s arrest on charges of second-degree battery stemming from the Bourbon Street Fight.”
As his contractual obligations with the UFC came to an end in November of last year, Diaz has since been booked to make his middleweight boxing debut over the course of eight rounds against 6-1 puncher, Jake Paul at an event in Dallas, Texas at August this year.
