It was her second triple-double of the season, the first coming on Tuesday, a match which Suns star Breonna Jones lost. Thomas also has two triple-doubles qualifiers.
Bonner has 6,454 career points, Bypass Katie Smith.
The Sun achieved its best start in 15 games in history (12-3), winning for the sixth time in seven games, before Tuesday’s confrontation with New York Liberty. They’ve won twice in a row since Jones suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Jones had surgery on Friday.
Kahleah Copper had a career-high 29 points for Chicago (5-9), who lost their sixth straight.
Connecticut allowed 27 points in the first quarter of the season, trailing by one, but used a 16-4 run to take over in the second quarter. Thomas recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to help Sun, who had 18 catches in 23 baskets, take a 54-42 lead. They finished with 30 assists in 40 baskets.
Chicago had a 10-0 lead going into the third quarter to stay in the game but the Sky only had nine points going into the fourth quarter.
DeJonay Carrington scored 17 points and Natisha Heidemann scored 14 for the Sun, who scored a season-high in points. Connecticut scored at least 80 points for the 11th consecutive game. Thomas became the rebounding leader in franchise history.
