The Western Hockey League (WHL) announced this week that the Washington Capitals are looking forward Alexander Suzdalev He was again named Rookie of the Month for April. Suzdalev was previously named WHL Rookie of the Month for December 2022 and February 2023.
Suzdalev led all first-year skaters during the month of April with nine points (3G-6A) over his six games.
Suzdalev, who hails from Khabarovsk in Russia but competes internationally for Sweden, collected three multi-point appearances in April, including a brace on April 8 against the Saskatoon Blades.
He finished the 2023 WHL playoffs with 10 points (3G-7A) in seven games after completing the 2022-23 regular season with 86 points.

Suzdalev led all WHL rookies in goals (38), assists (48), points (86), power play goals (17), power play assists (19), and tied for first in points per game (1.30) during the regular season. Suzdalev was named Regina Pats Rookie of the Year on March 28. He is a lock for WHL Rookie Of The Year, which has yet to be announced.

The Washington Capitals announced on April 14 that Suzdalev had been reassigned from the WHL Regina Pats to the AHL Hershey Bears. Suzdalev and the Pats were eliminated in the first round of the WHL playoffs this past weekend. Suzdalev has worked with the Bears but hasn’t seen a game yet.
