Quinnerly was a key player in Alabama’s success
Quinerly had a productive season coming off the bench for the Crimson Tide, averaging 8.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He began his college career at Villanova before transferring to Alabama for three seasons. In the 2021-22 season, he started 27 games before he was limited to playing time last season due to a torn ACL. He was named the 2023 SEC Sixth Man of the Year and was a huge part of the Crimson Tide’s stellar 2023 campaign. Jahvon Quinerly showed his scoring ability towards the end of the season, reaching double points in eight of his last nine games. He had a standout performance in both the second round of the NCAA Tournament and the SEC Tournament, scoring 22 points per game. His contributions earned him a spot on the All-SEC Championship Team.
After withdrawing his name from the 2023 NBA draft, Quinnerly initially announced his return to Alabama, but that post has since been deleted. His decision to enter the teleportation gate indicated a change of plans. Quinerly had an impressive showing in the SEC Tournament in 2021, earning MVP honors and helping Alabama win the conference title. He recently shared this Instagram point and then suddenly deleted it.

What does Alabama do from here?
Quinnerly’s departure leaves Alabama with only four returning players on the roster for next season. Under head coach Nate Oates, the program has been successful and has produced several NBA draft picks, including four first-round picks. Quinnerley’s decision to transfer will have an impact on the squad’s composition and dynamics going forward. Looking at Bama, Mark Sears is expected to play an important role in the team again, and Aaron Estrada, a transfer from Hofstra, could play a prominent role as well. The list also includes Latrell Wrightsell Jr. transfers. and Davin Cosby Jr. Plus Rylan Griffen, who is listed as a guard but can play either as a guard or small forward. Either way, it’s going to be an interesting year for Bama and coach Nate Oates.
