Stephens, speaking before arriving in the Northwest, said:
“I am so excited to be able to join the Cheshire Phoenix organisation. This is an amazing opportunity and I am so happy that such a great organization believes in me and my abilities.
“I am looking forward to working with my teammates and staff, and being able to build on the great success this team had last season. I promise I will give everything I have and work every day to help this team win more games. I am looking forward to reaching Port Ellesmere to meet everyone and I can’t wait to get to work.”
Phoenix coach Ben Thomas added:
“I’m happy to have EJ on board next season. On the field he can really score the ball in many different ways while always playing solid defence, but the thing that stands out most about EJ is his enthusiasm and his attitude. He’s a great teammate and I know he’s really excited about the opportunity.” .
