Ever since the infamous Fourth of July where Kevin Durant located his next class, the NBA has been the Golden State League. In the process, NBA fans got more and more tired of the Warrior’s way as the days went by. As a result, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was asked about parity issues and weighing in position.
“I get it in terms of Kevin Durant going [to the Warriors in 2016]. It was a bit of an aberration in our system; We had a spike in our hood, which enabled them to have extra hood space. Warriors will tell you they would have found a way to get it done anyway.”
But he added that the Warriors, who won their second straight championship this season with Durant, should deserve their due.
In the end, despite all of Golden State’s championship success, they only needed a stroke of luck to add Durant in the first place — never mind all the injury luck along the way. But, this often happens to those who make it to the top, it can involve a lot of luck. But, with insane luxury tax bills, expiring contracts on the horizon, and potentially another superstar team coming along, it’s unclear how long this group will survive.
