SINGAPORE – Brooks Kupka and British Open champions Cam Smith and Sergio Garcia were among those tied for a five-year first-round lead when storms halted play in the LIV Singapore Championship at Sentosa Golf Club on Friday.
Tallor Gooch, winner of last week’s tournament in Adelaide, Australia, was also a 5. Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau were among those tied for second, after being hit by a putt in the back, when play was suspended with most players having four holes. Golf to play on a par-71 course.
Gooch, Smith and Mickelson were in a standout group that started on the first tee in the gun starting form of the 54-hole LIV Tour Championships.
