How do the Cowboys stack up with the Eagles? – Work crew. DallasCowboys.com
The Cowboys got past the Eagles in the NFC.
How do the Cowboys stack up with the Eagles?
Nick Eatman: Just like last year, the Cowboys are up there with the Eagles. Now match-wise, it’s pretty close. The Eagles beat the Cowboys at home against a backup QB and the Cowboys came back and beat the Eagles at home with their backup. Both matches were close and competitive and I’m sure it will come back again when Duck faces the pain again. But the Eagles were clearly better than Dallas last year overall and found ways to win many close games. The Cowboys are going to make sure they win those games they’re supposed to be with the Eagles all year long.
Kyle Yeomans: One of the two leading teams in the NFC East this season lost seven starters from the 2023 season, and the Cowboys weren’t. Even with the loss of some key members on defense and a few rotating players on offense, Philadelphia still looks like a powerhouse in the trenches. This was a big reason for their files power They run last season and remain a strength of their team. Dallas will have to stay healthy up front to do well against the Eagles in this department, with two rookies ready for the challenge, and depth that has yet to be proven. Out of the trenches, these are two very even soccer teams each with a wide open chance of winning the division and making a playoff run.
Predict the last-place team in each NFL division for the 2023 season – Garrett Bodell, CBS Sports
If the Eagles are the NFC measuring stick, the Leaders are… what’s the opposite of the measuring stick?
Many questions in their center behind the middle. Hiring assistant head coach and offensive coordinator Eric Bienemy will help develop two opposing starting quarterbacks — 2022 fifth-round draft pick Sam Howell (one career game played) and linebacker Jacoby Brissett — but neither seem ready to make the Gino Smith-like leap in 2023 despite some impressive receiving talent in Pro Bowler Terry McLaurhan Plus.
Not much is known about Washington’s offense at this point for picking them to finish against the Eagles, Cowboys, or Giants—all teams that won last season’s playoffs.
Ex-Eagles RB likens Giants signing Daniel Jones to investing in a garage – Collum Dale, Yardparker
Meanwhile in New York, Daniel Jones is like Rodney Dangerfield – he gets no respect.
[LeSean] McCoy and fellow panelists debated whether they would prefer to invest in a Bentley or a home, implying [Saquon] Barclay is the car and [Daniel] Jones home. However, McCoy doesn’t seem to think Jones is a homebody at all.
“[Jones] “It’s not a condo, it’s like a garage,” McCoy said. “I mean, are we going to sit here and act like Daniel Jones is this star quarterback? You’re supposed to get better and better every year. I can’t even say he’s getting better every year, it’s been a really good year because of a really good coach.”
Why 2023 Could Be Tony Pollard’s Final Season With The Cowboys – Todd Archer, ESPN
Tony Pollard’s future remains in doubt beyond 2023.
Not surprisingly, the Dallas Cowboys and running back Tony Pollard were unable to seal a deal on a long-term contract by Monday’s deadline for the banned franchise players.
When the Cowboys made the decision in March, and Pollard signed the $10.091 million mark soon after, that always seemed the most likely destination.
Why? The Cowboys just got out of paying Ezekiel Elliott a $90 million extension that included a guaranteed $50 million. Elliott will still count $5.82 million this season and $6 million next year for his cap. They will not pay big money for another comeback.
and Pollard, which he had Pro Bowl In 2022, he paid the price for being a running back at a time when the running market was drying up.
So what now?
This will very likely be Pollard’s last season with the Cowboys – and it will have nothing to do with Pollard and all the Cowboys dealing with their salary cap in 2024 and beyond.
The Eagles are favored to win the NFC, but the Lions are the most popular bet — Michael David Smith, PFT
People forgot cowboys.
The Eagles are the favorite to repeat as NFC champions. But there is no bet more popular than black.
More than 36 percent of bets on this season’s NFC champion have been placed on the Lions, and more than 34 percent of the money set aside for the NFC win has been on the Lions, according to BetMGM. All that money has turned the Lions’ odds of winning the NFC from +1100 to +850.
The Eagles, who were +260 favorites, were betting 13 percent of the tickets and 11.8 percent of the handle. No other team has more than 10% of the bets to win the NFC.
In the history of their franchise, the Lions have never won an award NFC Championship Game. This year’s team appears to have one of the best chances of any Lions ever.
2023 Franchise Deadline Winners, Losers: A Tough Day for Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, Tony Pollard – Garrett Bodell, CBS Sports
Jerry Jones did not fall into Zeke’s trap.
Winner: Jerry Jones
Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones learned his lesson in overpaying running backs. He did it the hard way, watching the wheels fall off Ezekiel Elliott for the last three seasons while the former top-five pick played six years, and a $90 million extension Jones handed him with two years remaining on his rookie deal. Pollard is a player worth keeping since he was 26 years old and has significantly less wear and tear (631 career touches) than Barkley (1,201 touches) and Jacobs (1,232). He breaks career-highs all-around in rushing attempts (193), yards (1,007), and touchdowns (nine) as well as catches (39), receiving yards (371), and receiving touchdowns (three).
Jones will be able to pay him a lower price annually on a new deal next off-season with a hyper-saturated back market that includes Jacobs, Barkley, Derek Henry, Austin Eckler, D’Andre Swift, Jonathan Taylor and AJ Dillon.
