NEW ORLEANS – The Air Force men will enter the NCAA Cross Country Championships ranked eighth in the pre-championship edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association Division I National Coaches’ Poll, which was released this afternoon (Nov. 14) following the regional meets.
Backed by four all-region runners, the men finished fourth at the NCAA Mountain Regional, which was held last Friday (Nov. 11) in Albuquerque. Seniors Ryan Johnson (10th) and Ethan Marshall (15th) placed within the top 15 of the 119-runner event, as the men – with all five scoring runners finishing within the top 30 – matched their highest regional finish in nearly two decades.
The Falcons will be making their 19th appearance in the national meet – and fifth in the last six years – this Saturday (Nov. 19), when they travel to Stillwater, Okla., for the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
